November 1, 2010 - Wakefield Town Hall
Climate Change Skills Fund
Climate Change Best Practice Hub
Sheffield City Council is leading on the delivery of a Best Practice Hub, which will identify progress across the Y&H region in integrating climate change issues into planning, and will ultimately provide an online hub of tools, resources and examples of climate change best practice from across the region (please see the attached flyer below for more information).
In order to understand where there are great examples of planning for climate change mitigation and adaptation within Y&H, we would like to invite the relevant planning and climate change officers from your authority to attend an event on 1st November from 10-1.30 at Wakefield Town Hall. A detailed agenda will be sent out nearer the time, but the session will include workshop discussion groups to draw out examples of best practice.
We will also be briefly discussing another project, called Leadership, Skills and Delivery Support, to help us understand what skills planners feel they are lacking, and what kind of training would be appropriate. This project is being led by a North Yorkshire Project team.
These two projects will provide really useful resources and learning opportunities for planners and other officers working to deliver climate change mitigation and adaptation, but they can only happen with their support. I would appreciate it if you could forward this email to the relevant officers within your authority.
Grateful if you could confirm who will be representing your Local Authority at this meeting by 5pm on Monday 25th October 2010. Please send your confirmation to Ruth Hardingham (ruth.hardingham@lgyh.gov.uk).
If there are any general questions about the project or the programme as a whole, please contact Ruth Hardingham. If there are any specific questions relating to the Best Practice Hub and planning, please contact Emma Wells at Sheffield City Council (emma.wells@sheffield.gov.uk).
Thank you in advance for your help and support.
