Background:
|
Government is pursuing a programme of activity to transform the way regulators and businesses work together. The ‘better regulation agenda’ is intended to deliver important benefits; for businesses, who can expect a fairer and less burdensome approach from regulators; for local and central government, who can expect better joint working to deliver more targeted and effective work on enforcement, and for citizens, who will benefit from the existence of a more effective regulatory system.

Outcomes:

Build upon existing transformational activity funded formerly by RCE. Establish new networks. Hold regional summit to explore key workstreams in years 2 and 3. Make connections with Business Link and other providers of business advice and support; exploring options for a new partnership arrangement across region (all regulators); producing regional regulatory services newsletter; delivering training to support officers in developing multi functional skills and exploring opportunities for shared service approaches.
