Our vision bottom of page
The People Matter strategy sets out a plan for Yorkshire and Humber that is about putting the individual's needs first, giving them control over how they live. We are supporting a major cultural shift within public services which will transform the way people access specific services and how they are delivered.
Our aim is to significantly improve outcomes for people who depend upon social care, enabling them to be independent, productive and happy.
Objectives
The Joint Improvement Partnership (JIP) programme has set the following objectives.
- Support for councils in the transformation of social care through Personalisation and Early Intervention programmes.
- Help in identifying and delivering the anticipated 3% efficiency savings in social care
- through CSR.
- Strong support for local authorities to help them achieve improved targets in LAAs.
- Support for councils where areas of poor performance have been identified.
- Help to identify and address health inequalities, social exclusion, workforce development and
- capacity building.
- Plan of action to provide support for adults in care settings, ensuring their protection and safety.
YoHr Space has established an infrastructure to support the Children's Services agenda. This group includes Chairs of the Director of Children's Services (DCS) and Lead Member networks, senior representatives from LGYH, Government Office and the IDeA. This framework has already supported councils following the 2008/09 OFSTED inspection results. In particular YoHr Space has established a programme of support around the safeguarding agenda and this will continue to be developed in Year two.
