Developing New Forms of Support for Personalisation in Doncaster

July 29, 2010 - Lead Organisation: Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council

Summary:
Doncaster Council initiated the ‘Developing new forms of support for personalisation in Doncaster’ project in order to understand what conditions enable small forms of support provision to be set up in response to emergent needs.

The purpose of the project:
The ‘Putting People First’ initiative is a national programme which aims to improve people’s experience of adult social care by ensuring that individuals have control over the care they receive. To support this initiative the ‘Developing new forms of support for personalisation in Doncaster’ project investigated how local authorities can create the right conditions to enable providers of micro-services to flourish in order to meet specific needs. In addition, the project aimed to increase understanding of the commissioning procedures needed to enable statutory agencies to more effectively commission micro-services.
